Why would you write off a carbon frame if you took a tumble?
They seem to cope quite well during Paris Roubaix on the cobbles, welcome Steve, as others have said if it's comfy you will ride it more, so your fitness will come one, it's a nice bike, there is nothing wrong with aluminium, and I'm sure that once you get going, you will be back asking about upgrades :okay:

That's some expense just to see if you get along with it but fair play. You'll probably spend the guts of that again on gear before the years out. Here's to many miles and smiles along the way!

My Giant MCM is 16 years old and still going , it's a carbon framed MTB , I have had some real good offs on it , and it's still fine , They actually make planes from carbon and they take massive impact damage high up from huge hail stones etc etc etc .
