Every now and again I don't cycle but run for my commute. No bother in the summer but now that it's dark, unlit bikes on the footpath are a menace.

Was running along quite the thing tonight thinking how nice it had been to not be nearly run down by a bike for a change when I was nearly taken out by another unlit t*sser. Just before I dropped a shoulder and put bike and rider into a privet hedge I saw the kiddy seat at the back.

Next time it happens though, I won't swerve out the way - particularly if you are the w*nker that nearly took me out by the casino on the Clyde last week. ;)

Are you lit up yourself for running - being someone travelling at more than walking pace?

I noted the term 'footpath', where a bike shouldn't be, regardless of whether its lit or not.

Unlike a bike theres no requirement for a pedestrian to be lit, whatever speed they're doing....

True, no need to be lit up. But regardless of that, out running at this time of year it ain't a bad idea.

Of course that cyclist was still a complete tosser.

Agreed, not realising you'd put yourself in danger is one thing. Not realising it when you're 'in charge of' a kid is another

No need to effectively assault them - chill the f**k out, they might not even realise they're doing something wrong! Nothing wrong with having a word though...

Is it really worth getting worked up about? If you feel suitably agrieved, why not speak to the cyclist instead of being agressive?

While you're right about that, I suspect that the OP was just venting.
