Nexus 7 or kindle fire tablet

Anyone have one ? My son wants to purchase a tablet and is considering the nexus7 or kindle fire ?or any other options we should consider ? Budget £200

Nexus 32gb at that price. The Kindle ties you (although it is possible to untie, if you are confident with electrickery) to the Amazon store and, as it ships, is just a device to get you to buy more stuff.

Love the Nexus, I use it in preference to the iPad.

Slighty over budget, but well worth it just for the larger screen IMO, the Samsung Tab 2 10.1 is currently reduced to £238 from £299.

Got one from Argos today for my old fella, and saw them in Currys at the same price too

I think the Fire is cheap because the processing power is provided out in the cloud, which with the cruddy Internet connections we have in the UK sounds like a really bad idea.

Unless you have VirginMedia that is.

rocckyracoon has brought THIS to my attention today on another THREAD. It's not advertised in store, (that I've seen), but having read all the T&C's on the first link I can't see why it wouldn't apply to already discounted Tab 2's. Just check the model number I guess. I'll certainly be checking my Father's and whacking a claim in after Christmas for him.

That will make the Tab 2 £188 after cash back

I have the kindle fire hd. Decent piece of kit but only use it for reading. Use my iPad 3 for everything else although hoping Santa will bring me an iPad mini :-)

Nexus 7 awesome tablet, I also have the Motorola XOOM and the Pad. The nexus wipes the floor with them both IMHO, better sided less restrictive and better performing.
Can't go wrong with a nexus imho

No doubt the Nexus is "better". But.....I bought a Kindle Fire recently for just £99 (Amazon discount day) for the kids to play and read on and evening surfing and email stuff and it works well and is very cheap at that price I think. Syncs very well with existing kindles but choice of apps is limited at the moment.
