Cycling used to be my primary form of exercise (I reckon it's cost me less than a grand all-in over the last 16 years), until i got made redundant from my desk jobs too many times and opted for more reliable employment stacking shelves in Aldi. My job is my primary exercise. It's a bit like going to gym but i get paid more per hour stacking shelves than i ever got for pushing a mouse and punching keys.

I actually rode past it on the way to work at about 7am.
It was definitely a WTF !???! moment and as you can see they did a very thorough job as I didn`t even realise it was a police vehicle.Thought it was some hippy moon vehicle,or has HB changed that much ?
Just so long as they leave PC Gareths bike alone!

Kelly, age 50, from London, clearly has too much money. £1800 per month for 8 Hours exercise .

AHAHA! !haaaaa hahahah! London! Hahah what a silly place full of silly people!

(i lived there for 6 years im allowed to say that)

I should have become a personal trainer for the wealthy! but I couldn't live with the guilt Of earning that much from people who dont have brains/have a mental disorder

Cycling isn't free. A lot of the posts on here are about new bikes, new gear, Aldi, Castelli, Rapha. It can be as cheap or expensive as you want. But not often free.

I have to pay to take my bike on holiday with me or hire one. Not cheap.

My running shoes come for free.

I think the woman with no friends could be Madonna :O)

I am self employed and work at several sites per day. I cycle wherever I go/work.

At the moment, I average 200 miles per week (that includes my saturday and sunday fast rides)

I used to commute via train and bus (take the train to Cambridge city in the morning, then use the busses for the rest of the day)

I now save £6.30 per day, and £40 per month on gym membership. This equates to £166 per month, plus I can now do an additional job during the day 5 days a week, as I don't have to wait for busses.

So, with the bus/train savings, plus the additional job per day, in total, I am approx £700 richer per month (and a lot healthier/fitter)

I pay £30 a month for swimming membership at " better" group pools.

I use them as changing rooms when riding to work. I also get a swim in at same time. a pound a day for a clean changing room is no hardship. also means i keep my upper body exercised too.
