Having had 2 broken arms from a motorbike accident, I am particularly wary about going out in the snow and ice. But today, in Denmark was one of those glorious winter days. Snow on the ground, sunny and -6 degrees. I packed the flask of tea and off I went for a 17km trek. I saw 3 cars and no bikes. If this is winter I can manage it. ^_^

Looks a beautiful day - if cold? Do you have spiked tyres?

No I don`t have spiked tyres and I don`t get wheel skid either. The tyres are the standard tyres that came with the Kickbike. They are knobbly tyres by Kendra, I think. I have taken off the mudguards now because the ice and snow got trapped a couple of times. I am well wrapped up and certainly wasn`t cold today. I even thought about taking a layer off.

I've seen the Kickbike a couple of times in Bristol - not sure whether it's the same one each time or if there are more than one.

Looks amazing, we dont seem to get much snow here.

Do you have to keep swapping legs or just train up one big popeye leg? :training:

Yes I do change legs but I use my left leg the most. I change legs more often when going uphill. If I decide to get off and push uphill, I travel about 3km per hour. On the Kickbike I am travelling at about 9kph. In the summer my average speed is 17kph and I am not fast, by any means.

I have not had spikes on my shoes up to now but I may buy a set of those slip on spikes this week to see how they are. I am not really interested in going any faster than 13kph in these conditions anyway. I wear a pair of Timberland Goretex boots that have a good grip and keep my feet dry.

I am surprised to hear that you have seen Kickbikes in Bristol as I do not believe there is a UK dealership. They must have imported them from Finland.

Paul, i have the Race Max 20 and the Sport G4. The Race Max 20 is. Racing bike and the Sport G4 is for everyday riding and trails. There really isa huge difference between them.

I cant remember the prices here, I got mine from Germany. I am quite sure that they are more expensive than the UK. But the freight would have made it more expensive if I had got it from the UK.

Get one you will love it. It is atotally different cycling experience.
