No idea - Python Quantum 8100 Ladies or Carrera Crossfire 2 Womens Hybrid Bike

Just buying a new bike after about 20 years. Thought I'd found a decent option in the Python Quantum 8100 ladies urban bike, based on advice from my local store. They said it ticked all my boxes. Decided to check out Halfords online and I like the Carrera Crossfire 2 - and it's cheaper. Not a clue what the difference is, although I read the parts on a Python bike aren't that great. What's your advice please?

Never heard of Python. The Crossfire has suspension and at the budget end, that’ll be a heavy bike

As vickster says the Crossfire has front fork suspension which will make it a bit heavy and you really don't need it for the sort of riding you'll be doing in MK.
On your introduction post I suggested a used road bike before I saw this. For your budget you'd be better off with something like this hybrid:
