It does amuse me in the ads for Bounty the coconut that you see falling newly picked from the palm is an old coconut being brown in colour and hairy. Fresh coconut is green and has a smooth outer.

The brown bit is the inner part of the coconut fruit like the stone of a peach. Being brown doesn't make it old, it just makes you wonder where the outer green bit went between being cut out of the tree and hitting the ground.
