No no bike

In my experience, the least likeable bike is better than no bike. I have ridden Apollo bikes that did the job, the non suspension ones with basic Shimano parts are quite serviceable. Below that grade, the alignment can get wonky. Some of the wanabee aluminium full sussers that are in fact steel front suspension are abominations but bicycle shaped abominations.

You're way above my price range and thoughts:

Apollo
Muddyfox
Viking
and similar ...
My daughter had Two Apollo bikes, both lasted 5yrs of hell,
they never broke, sadly she gave the larger one away this summer,
I was all set on riding it in the Forrest, it was steel, a bit heavy but
you wouldn’t notice it from riding, and it was comfortable,
I liked everything about it, never would you think it was a bike you
would want to ride, yet I liked being on it.

It's a language issue vickster, we have the same thing in Welsh where the word for blue "glas" is very often used to describe something which is green.

A town in Flintshire, Greenfield translates to "Maes Glas" Blue Space.

An explanation I was once given is "look at the sea, is it blue or on certain days is it green"
In Wales? Usually grey......

Don't like Giant or Pinarello. Sure they're nice enough bikes, but the ultra compact frame design and the "melted" wobbly stays just look unappealing to me.

Specialized can feck off till they learn to spell proper like what I do.

GT - mainly because I've had so many quality issues with my Grade... and the manufacturer support has been non-existent (won the bike in a compo so no LBS to take it back to/sort out the issues).
