No wonder cyclists are hated

Oh God! Not another one!🙈

Just replied to another post about one person judging another, based on knowing &*#£ all about them!

A cyclist decides to ride in a way that could irritate some people - so what?

Just rejoined the site having been off it for a while - nothing seems to have changed, wondering why I bothered

👌 Think I might stay a while!

I don’t know about anyone else but is there much more conflict wherever you go nowadays?

I don’t remember people being so quick to aggression when I was on here a few years ago! Maybe it’s a sign of me getting old

Been doing a lot of cycling these days, and, counter intuitively have found drivers if anything to be better than the impression that is given on some cycling discussion groups

👌 Maybe counter intuitively was a bit too deep! Perhaps more a case of comments on various forums seeming to reinforce the idea that it was ‘getting worse on the roads’ when I’ve not found that to be the case!

We do not have infrastructure for cyclists so they have to "borrow" space on other user type's infrastructure in the UK

Actually as horses and cycles were around long before cars they are using our infrastructure, that's why they have to pay to use it

I would tend to agree, I don't feel attitudes to cyclists online translate to the roads and I spend 15hrs or so a week cycling on the road. What I feel has got worse over the last few years is the general standard of driving, mainly through general lack of care and attention. I see this regularly both as a cyclist and a driver.

Nail on head - yup I completely agree. Driving and cycling I get completely baffled by the drivers I come into contact with. It’s not just travelling along the various category of road infrastructure, I’m just as baffled watching them in car parks and in slow/manoeuvring situations! How on earth did they ever pass their tests?

Yep this is exactly what I posted earlier in this thread :

The issue I find when riding is more a case of carelessness and seemingly oblivious drivers to my presence rather than any who I perceive to actually target me.

Come to Leeds and see delivery cyclists.I would love to see the police smash them out of sight.Sunday night after the church service riding through Headingley no piggin lights all in black with a balaclava and no helmet.Whoever in charge allowed these bikes on the road need a bollocking, they are worse than all cyclists in my opinion.
