Well it is snowing here now ... so I live in hope  .

You'll soon get fed up with it! Not much here, but my sister lives just north of York and is well fed up - craft fairs cancelled (at which she was going to sell stuff), carol concerts cancelled (in which she was going to sing), weekend with loads of friends in Exeter cancelled, supposed to be off to Germany tomorrow on the Eurostar, so wondering just how far she will get. I thought she might be OK because she isn't flying, but some Eurostars have been cancelled and others delayed....

And as Arch said on another thread, bloody broadcasters waffling endlessly on about the 'tragedy' of people's holidays being delayed, people being stuck for a couple of hours in a traffic jam (take a book, love, if you can read, or listen to the radio!)

I could chuck the bloody radio out of the window next time someone starts warbling about dreaming of a white bloody Christmas!

.....and breathe....

Less than an inch in Coventry, minus ten overnight. Only about one inch of snow in total over the two big freezes we've had so far. Poor effort

We have slush and ICE as i found out this morning when i went down like a sack of spuds on shiny ice covered by slush ! Even had a motorist stop and ask if i was OK to which i replied i'm doing well,it's the first time i crashed this winter !

I was talking to my B-i-L last night: only about an inch where they live, near Ilkley. But that situation may change! We're due to drive up there for the usual Xmas gathering, on Friday, a bit chancy: last year we got there OK, but my nieces were busy building an igloo in the front yard as we arrived.

Round here in Zaaarrrsex, we're in at 3 inches so I don't think we qualify!

It's official now .In Vernon and Postman's street .We have more grit than snow .That gritter van has been round twice today .And it's all so very sunny .

Leicester has had hardly any snow, where all around us (in Brum, and in Lincolnshire) it has royally dumped and really inconvenienced people. I was in Belfast on Thur/Fri when it really came down, flew back to Heathrow from Dublin instead on Friday evening, just before heathrow was closed on Saturday, so I keep dodging it. Maybe I'll be buried alive by a giant random snowball that falls from the sky to make up for it.

I think that the western half of Cornwall got off lightly, but I may be wrong. Anybody able to report from there?

I suspect its' more rain than snow down there- especially near the coast. St Mary's (Scilly) reached a tropical 5c today (41f)!

Hereabouts, there's practically no snow at all in Newmarket, just under an inch in my village and about 2-3 inches in Cambridge. Well below freezing here all day- only reached 21 F (-6c)

To follow up on the three previous reports, still nothing in Leicester. (Not the snow, I mean there really is nothing in Leicester).
