don't worry about it - it's only half a day. Nothing can possiby go THAT off in half a day. Anyway, if it does go slightly off a few bacteria aren't going to do the lad any harm, it'll only toughen up his immune system. People are far too insistent on wrapping children up in cotton wool these days, it's all far too nanny-state britain sitting inside on games consols instead of playing in the woods 'cos there might be nasties around.
+1 Nowt wrong with a wholemeal sam'n'ella sarny

The only option is to get the wee one used to sweaty/warm sandwiches as soon as possible so they think thats normal, or we'll be able to detect the sound of a rod for someone's back being gently whittled into existance..

Good tip! I'll pass that one on....

Maz, you're right about the banana bit - he doesn't like the bruised bits, or the stringy bits either, although he'll happily stuff as much of a banana as he can in his mouth, once they are removed. He also likes grapes and pear, but not apple, which is a shame, as 'apple' is one of his clearest words...

Hmm, banana sandwiches. My Dad, when he was little, was at a party and was offered a banana sandwich. Not knowing whether he liked banana or not (this would have been pre-WW2, so they weren't as common), and not wanting to be rude, he apparently turned it down on the grounds that he wasn't allowed to eat banana.

I'm quite sure warm sandwiches will be fine, and I'm sure my sister will think so too, once she's had time to think about it - but it was just interesting that niether of us could think of many fillings that didn't come out of the refridgerator in the first place....
