Saw a vid on utube recently, and a new component was being used on the brake installation:

In the vid they were just being used as part of a rebuild project, so no in depth info. Has anyone used them?
On the face of it they seem a good idea, eliminating the noodle part and just using the cable itself for the sharp bend.

Solid noodles are.... solid! Coiled brake outer isn't, even if supported by a brace as above.
I would expect an increase in outer compression and a corresponding reduction in brake firmness if using these instead of good solid metal noodles.

I have several stainless steel noodles on my bikes, and they are coiled, not solid, and work fine:

Daresay there is some compression going on, but on such a short section it's splitting hairs really.

Nothing new about these, I've had them on my touring bike for about 5 years.
They work perfedtly well.

Any advantages to them? Lessen interference with other stuff?
(I have solid noodles on a build of mine which used to use cantis and the rear noodle does rub the rear rack)
