So - my first foray into the world of Campagnolo and I'm lovin' it!!

However - I wasn't paying attention, and managed to set the front mech so that if you shift up with too much "gusto" (notice use of Italian word) - then the chain falls off the front big ring.... Anyway - during a ride home, managed to cause the chain to fall off whilst I was going up a fairly steep hill, pulling the rear deraileur forward, and snapping the body, AS SODDING WELL AS BENDING THE DROPOUT!!!!! ARRRRGHHHH!!!!

the deraileur was a Campy Xenon ( 26 quid from eBay - new).... the dropout HAS to come from Halfor... because the bike is a Carrera (ahem).

a mere £24 for a new droput!!!

I'm going to try and re-straighten this though....

You defo want to get a new derailleur hanger - that's now fatigued and bent, and your derailleur may not shift very well any more, plus you'll always worry about when it'll break leaving you stranded or on single speed.

+1

It will be bent in more than one plane...

I've had to buy a new derailleur hanger several times, and I think the cost is a rip-off, but nothing you can do about it. At least it's cheaper than an expensive frame repair/replacement, from the days when the hanger used to be an integral part of the frame!
