Following the birth of a baby girl to his son, Stephen, and his girlfriend, both 14 years old, Dale Wright of Warwickshire, Brittain, became the youngest known grandfather at age 29. Mr. Wright, who was also 14 when Stephen was born, was astonished when his son told him his girlfriend was expecting, but did all he could to be supportive. "I wish it hadn't happened," he told the press, "but I couldn't shout at Stephen too much because I'd done the same at his age."

Didn't Linford Christie run in an Olympic 100 metres final as a grandfather?

Grandfather!!
My stepdaughter gave birth to a baby girl last night.
Am I the youngest grandparent on here,at 48?
On the plus side:-
Baby Taylor( I know yoof of today) is doing well.
They live in Scotland, so will have to take the bike when we visit, and get a few hills in.
Next time I get thrashed in a race I can say "well I am a grandparent you know"

All the very best tp you and yours AS. It's a very exclusive club and provides a ready excuse for all future race failure  At least you're too far away to be on call for babysitting duties....

As a stepdaughter is not your progeny then only your wife has become a grandparent, surely? You're just married to a granny!
