I've bought my first lot of gels today. I flag on the hour mark on the trainer and I notice a banana or two perks me up. I'll try the gels tomorrow but at 1.90 a pop they are a lot more expensive than a couple of bananas!

A word of warning: if you haven't used gels before some people find that they can sometimes have quite explosive side effects.

I will look out for this when I'm next in Aldi. In truth, the bike shop man spent a good 10 mins discussing saddle positioning with me that I felt compelled to buy something for his good advice.
Yeah it's a danger isn't it, I often call in just for a mooch and leave with 3 peanut butter Clif bars. 🥴

I say Aldi, it might have been Lidl... someone posted on here that they were in at the time and I bought a few, they're not regularly there.

Having said that, a quick check of Halfords shows they're currently doing them for 9 pounds.
The bottle alone is worth a fiver. And each gel individually is £1.30.
