"If you are a keen cyclist who is looking to cycle long distances every day and will not be happy otherwise, then this tour is not for you. If you are flexible and happy to cycle whatever distance is possible and at whatever pace is possible then we welcome you with open arms!"

What will they say if we all sprint off into the hills?

I've always wanted to visit the DPRK - I'm fascinated by history and things like that. I will be honest and admit it is not for everybody but I'd be on this like a pig in muck if I could.

The history of Burma is troubled at best. A regime with a repressive steel grip over it's people. Those that dissent or don't conform, refuse to be brainwashed, disappear, are locked up, or shot. As you say fascinating, not.

It's North Korea, not Burma.

I understand the sort of regime that runs the country. Doesn't put me off in the slightest - the Korean war interests me hugely as well as the fact it's so closed off from the outside world.

But I bet you can't ride it when and where you like ............ which would make it a big non for me. I have a hunch you would be tailed by heavies / government stooges / secret police.

You are - you can't freely move around unless you have a Government appointed guide with you at all times.

My mistake and apologies. I don't know what made me type Burma. Burma is similar although I believe it is now embracing a new capitalism with the help of China to make use of it's huge oil and other natural reserves. As a side note countries with "Democratic" in their title never are.

I'm with you sabian92, I've wanted to visit North Korea for many years now. I saw the North from the South Korea border and looked at the huge flag the North had erected and also saw the facades of 'buildings' the North wanted you to believe were the real thing.

I was hoping for an invite to the last Leaders funeral but it obviously got lost in the post. I will get there one day though and hopefully before it opens up too much.

Yes, and also Cuba before it changes..... whenever that'll be.

I made it to Cuba about ten years ago. Havana is amazing, great architecture (ok, a lot of it is falling down!), wonderful old American cars on the streets and plenty of bars where you can listen to the music Cuba is renowned for.

Cuba has already changed since Fidel stepped down and his brother took over. People can now run their own businesses and also own mobile phones, not sure if that is a good or bad thing though! I recently heard Cuban's will be able to own land in the future aswell. Things are definitely changing there.
