It's amazing how they keep those cars running. For decades there has been a trade embargo from America and so spares are impossible to get hold of, they therefore have to make, or adapt items, to keep the cars going. Due to the friendship between Cuba and the USSR Lada engines were available and I would imagine the majority of the vehicles are using them.

They still look great though!

I'm fascinated by North Korea and have recently read a book called 'Nothing To Envy' which if you are curious about what life in the country is like is well worth a read.

It's written by an American journalist based in South Korea and the book follows the lives of eight North Korean defectors.
