do this night ride on the 28th, to say Brighton
drinks on the sea front
trains await to LMNH's and join the congregation there mid-afternoon.
Sorry, let me see if I have this right. I'm at work at day on the Wednesday, then awake all night riding to Brighton, then drinking, then on the train back to London and ride to LMNH and some more drinking on Thursday? Is that the plan?

Is there a sort of "festive-ride lite" for those approaching the age of bus pass entitlement?

That sounds fairly accurate. In fact I think this is the lite version. The full version involves seeing in midnight Thursday at LMNH.

It is Xmas after all!!

Looking at Titus's drinks thread, I would say its best to do this night ride on the 28th, to say Brighton, where breakfast and drinks on the sea front awaits and then cheap, frequent and quick trains await to take those who wish to LMNH's and join the congregation there mid-afternoon.

The 30th would mean a big quandary for those going out to parties on New Years Eve and would also mean am out, sorry.
Quandary? What quandary?Train back. Kip. Party (and annoy those of us who think 'New Year? Meh'). Simple.

Sorry. what I meant:
Is there a sort of "festive-ride lite" (ie something not involving vast quantities of alcohol) for those approaching the age of bus pass entitlement?*

*At the age of 60 you are entitled to a pass that gives you free rides on buses. I am, at this moment, a mere two years, two weeks and two days away from getting one. Hence old. Hence unable to keep up with youngsters, such as Fanjio and Charlie B.

But if you have a bus pass that means you can drink as much as you like without worrying about how far it is to walk to the train station, cos you can get a bus!!!

Sorry to disappoint but if that means your birth date was 04/12/53 then you don't get your bus pass until 06/07/17 at the sad really old age of 63 years 7 months and a bit

I know I am right. I am married to a woman of almost exactly your age and the prospect of another 5 years of "No, we can't get the tube 'cos I haven't got enough on my Oyster" is going to kill me.

So I'm looking for an older woman. Please send photo of bus pass.
