As the title says, im not great with bikes and in that im not sure whats good specs or bad specs. i dont know what i should expect from bikes with this and that.

This is the bike im wondering about
http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/products/focus-variado-2-0-12

Is it good.
What would i expect from it
Is that a good price
anything else you think would be worth saying

ATM i have a specialized Allez and i want something new and better so is this bike that much of a step up?

Shimano 105 for £700 sounds a good deal:thumbsup:

Heard good reports on the Focus bikes, alloy frame n carbon forks as wll as 105 drivetrain and FSA Gossamer crankset at this price is excellent.
You know you wanna!

Personally I didn't tink there could have been that much diff between the Sora and 105 until I upgraded my groupset to 105 and from a tripe to double-10
The difference is phenomenal.

Good choice Dan. My first road bike was the Focus Variado Expert 2009. I actually got it for 699 with full ultegra, and it has been an exceptional buy. Although relegated to my winter/training ride these days it still performs brilliantly, the only thing I changed were the wheels. It came with Fulcrum 7s which I replaced with ksyrium elites.

I'm sure you will not regret your choice. Enjoy!

Looks good despite all the hype on the site. Don't think you will br disappointed. Don't forget a bike like this is very nickable so buy a good lock and secure the front wheel whilst locking. And get a helmet too.

i had a good lock because of my old bike.
Its a kryptonite Evolution series 4 Standard, a very hard lock to get into without a chain saw or something similar.

Nice ride, happy cleaning!

If you're buying it from the Edinburgh Co-Op at the top of Shields Road, my personal experience is that the staff in there aren't great. The ones I have spoken to know their bikes, but the service is abysmal. Particularly when ordering online for in-store collection.
