Not long now.........

I've been deliberating for a while now, and have decided to move away from a full carbon bike and move back onto an aluminium frame.

My choice of steed? Cannondale CAAD10 Dura-Ace, ordered 6/5/11 from Wheelbase

I've also done a deal on the wheels as I wanted an even stronger wheel, so Wheelbase are kitting me out with a pair of 2011 Kysirium SL's........

Hoping for a phone call Tuesday/Wednesday this coming week, but it will probably be next Saturday before I can collect her

Now I need to pose a question.............

I upgraded the finishing kit on my carbon bike to full Ritchey WCS in Wet Black, and I really like the look of it. Would you leave the CAAD10 with the Cannondale in house matt finishing kit, or swop it out for the WCS, bearing in mind the matt finish of the CAAD10 frame - I'm torn over this one?

I'll take some decent close up pics when I get her home, and I'll try and weigh the whole bike with the Mavics on.

Anyone else got a CAAD10 yet?

Cheers guys, I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas, (as I'm sure you all appreciate).

The customer service from Wheelbase has been superb. The stores about an hours' drive for me to get to, but the range of bikes they have on show and the finance deals swung it for me, well worth the journey, plus with it being in Kendal, you can easily make a day of it with the family, or take a bike with you and get some Lakeland miles in while you are there.
All the guys I've dealt with, be it email, telephone or in store have always been professional, courteous and attentive, nothing seems to much trouble - a refreshing change from some buying experiences of the past.

In fact, I'm not sure who's most excited about this bike, me or the guys at Wheelbase.

Well, I got the longed for phone call this afternoon, "Good Afternoon Mr Smokeysmoo, your CAAD10 is ready for collection"

To which I had to reply, "Thank you very much, I'll see you on Saturday" That's 2 days away

Still, it's only two more sleeps, two more alarms, two more breakfasts, or one more day at work.

I think I might need to ask Mrs S to put some Bromide in my tea!

D-Day

It's now 7.30 and I've been up an hour already, but I can't set off until at least 10.30 due to famliy commitments, then it'll take me about an hour to get upto Wheelbase


I suppose I should get a few miles in on another bike, (especially as the sun has just come out), but I can't get excited about them as today is all about the CAAD!


I know you shouldn't wish you life away, but God I wish it was about half 11 already
