This lunchtime I was making the most of my half hour of freedom by tootling around the country lanes near where I work. I decided to go down a road I hadn't explored before and wondered why it's called 'The Channel'. Then at the bottom of a very fast and rewarding hill I found out how the road got it's name when I nearly rolled into this:

I stood pondering the foot deep water and the fact I was wearing my office shoes when a nice old fella who was washing his car at the far end of the river / road waded over in his waders and offered to carry my bike over for me, which he did:

Having carried my bike to the other side he then hopped into the 4x4 he'd just finished washing and drove through the river and told me to hop in.

So I had a great ride and was the lucky recipient of a very nice act!

I like rides like this :smile:

Really nice guy.But when you said "I like rides like this :smile:".Did you mean the one in 4*4 or the bike .Ireally didn't understand.Sorry
