Hang on - Terry slept with Bridge's former girlfriend, no? So if she was his former girlfriend, he's got no real claim for betrayal, has he? He's just being a precious idiot. Bah.
There is some doubt as to whether the relationship started before or after Bridge and his ex split. The earliest admitted to was just nineteen days after it ended, and in any case it is considered a no-no among blokes to start nobbing your friends ex', especially if it happens to be the mother of your son who was in the house at the time.

Whatever anyone might say on this forum, I doubt if there is a male here who would not be extremely angry in the same situation. I should think most women would not be too pleased either.

So she wasn't that former then...oh well...

I think that it's every footballers dream to play for their country. I admire Wayne Bridge for the way that he has kept his dignity so far. Listening to JT's team mates on the radio this afternoon it sounds clear that he's got the morals of a tom cat, great footballer twit off the pitch.

i think you need a reality check. would you really want anything to do with the person who'd slept with your girlfriend?
Why would i need a reality check? If it came down to work then yes, i would get on with it. If a colleague of yours slept with your girlfriend would you just stop going to work? If the answer is yes, then more fool you. i understand it's an awful thing to happen, but far worse things happen to people everyday, get over it.

I think you have it. And Bridge isn't good enough to be in the team - we have one very good left back (Ashley Cole) and the rest are journeymen. Any one of half a dozen would do the job that Bridge could do.

Aaaah, at least it's not just me that was wondering about this. She's an ex... I just don't get what all the fuss is about.

Sorry.

i wouldn't stop going to work but i would stop going somewhere (england camp) outside of my normal working hours (club football) that would bring me in contact with the person who'd slept with my girlfriend which is what he's done

Hmm, to be honest as far as I'm concerned if you finish a relationship with someone they are free to sleep with whoever they like.

I do find it odd though that this woman can feel ready so soon to start another relationship just days after another one ended. In my experience it takes of the order of months for women to get over a breakup sufficiently to start another relationship.

I suppose that some sports types just don't aspire to play for their country, although I think they would be in a minority. I also would not accuse such people of being unpatriotic as after all sports are only games.

Quite right. I've been there - left by a guy who then started seeing someone else very soon after, someone in the same department as me, studying the same sub-discipline. I couldn't bring myself to be civil to her for ages. I'm not proud of it, but I was very hurt by it all. Eventually I managed to get to the point where we could work together, even do stuff socially in a group, but even now, years later, there's a little bit of me that resents her.

I should have been angry with him, but it's harder to be angry with someone you love, and much easier to take it out on someone else.

Well if you were in turmoil over a split with the mother of your child and your best mate (who was in a marriage he had no intention of quitting) started shagging her within a few weeks you are more forgiving than most if you'd think it was fair enough.

So you would give up the opportunity to play for England at the World Cup? Jeez...
