So you would give up the opportunity to play for England at the World Cup? Jeez...

What's the big deal? It's not like England are going to win or anything.

Sometimes, there is just stuff more important than football, even for a footballer.

Well i think it's clear our views on just about everything differ, Arch.
They were not married, it was a case of his ex sleeping around, i think he should just get over it. I understand people deal with things differently, i for one would (and have) just put it behind me because it's just not a big deal to me. When it comes to representing your country, i don't think an issue which is worthy of Heat magazine should get in the way.

If my other half slept with somebody else, decided I'm not for her and found somebody else, I don't think I'd be too fussed. After all, you can't force people to want to be with you. If she decided no, no, I'd say fine and then try and find somebody who does want to hang around.
You might, but Bridge's beef isn't with his ex but with his best mate for jumping into bed with her while it was still warm after him.

Terry just wanted a shag, he had no intention of leaving his wife. What would particularly gall is that in his position he could have found any uomber of attractive girls queuing up climb in the sack with him, he didn't need to take the piss like that.

Love I could forgive, in that particular situation lust I couldn't.

Well if you were in turmoil over a split with the mother of your child and your best mate (who was in a marriage he had no intention of quitting) started shagging her within a few weeks you are more forgiving than most if you'd think it was fair enough.
what's the forgiveness thing about?

hi ya interesting reading. Just thought I would add my 2cents to this... For me playing for your country is an honor but if you dont want it let someone else have it...easy ;0) We aint going to win the world cup so hes not missing out on much. Just a shame it was bridges who has left as I would say JT would be less missed. I wonder how many more we are going to hear about this year. First tiger woods and now this...whats next....?

I've had enough of all this talk of England having no chance, our form has been pretty damn good under the guidence of Capello. Also Terry would be a far greater loss when compared to Bridge, he is a fantastic player as well as a good leader (he'l still play a part in leading the team, without the captains armband) whereas Bridge is a second choice left back, Cole should be fit in time.
