Glad to read someone else has not fallen yet.

I have bib shorts - wouldn't ride the road bike in anything else. Don't have them in bright colours thought....

Not quite...he "ain't fallen yet in over a year"...more than 12 months ago he was falling off every 10 minutes, probably.

I personally can't see myself going clipless I still have the old toestraps and with my athletic stile of riding very much on my toes the clipless technology isn't really suitable as I need the flexibility to whip the pedals around. Its horses for course I guess and you go with whatever you find best.

And then just to be completely sure that you're a 'proper' cyclist, don't forget to break your collarbone!

Oh Yes!!

It took two years but my first "moment" came yesterday.

As has already been mentioned, complacency was the cause. Too relaxed as no traffic around to worry about falling into.
