Just a quick Q for anyone in Nottingham - any reasonable cycle parking at or near the Notts Forest ground? Or am I best using the train station which if I recall isn't too far away?

Thanks

Thanks TMC, I think I'll try station first then Broadmarsh as I'll be parking up on the North side of the city centre and gettng my bike out of the car - just fancy exploring Nottingham on the bike for a couple of hours pre-match see ahat's changed (no trams last time I was there for a start!)

Then I can head back and see if George's chippy is still open in Berridge Road in Forest Fields for my tea after the match. Used to love that place with veggie sausages and veggieburgers - not things that you see in chippies in Sheffield or Hull

A few Sheffield stands out the front of the County Hall- about 200 yards from the Forest Ground with patrolling wardens...still use a good lock though.

ooh, just remembered, the entrance to Forest is next to the river and there are railings right outside the door if you want to lock up in an overlooked\lit area...

ps. Georges Chippy is still there iirc (traveled through there a week ago but no changes stood out), but the Frog & Onion has changed very much for the worse if you fancy a pint, so head to the Lion instead.

Wow..I have to say I was amazed at how environmentally conscious Nottingham drivers are.

In an effort to reduce fossil fuel by additional charging load on the alternator and the resultant extra fuel consumption, even as the evening draws in they all seem to drive without lights - Either that or back in 1945 someone forgot to send them the "war is over" memo and they are still on blackout

Pretty unforgiving for someone unfamiliar with the streets...I'd hate to cycle around the place as a total newbie, it was bad enough not having really been back since 1994

Saw some scary cycling too...Gaz could easily do a "Silly Cyclists" episode

And George's chippy is there but far removed from how it used to be in the days when you could go in and get a battered veggie sausage

But the damp weather and soggy chips couldn't put a dampener on the result
