Reminds me of my commute, many a time i have seen dead lock on the lane, not much traffic which is why i use it but when cars / vans decide to come both ways and no one has the brains to wait at a passing point ...............

I had the same again too day but at least the lead car had the brains too sir at the lane entrance until the road had cleared. A white van too which is almost unheard of :P

Personally I would have guided the taxi through that gap. But each to their own. Let them get out of their own mess.
I would have just cycled past all the stationary traffic pointing at my bike with a big grin on my face. Yes it would get me beat up, but its funny to see the frustration on peoples faces.

Even though I have a car now, it is easily narrow enough to get through small gaps, and park in the smallest of spaces. I dont understand why people need such a big car for one person.
If they made cars for one person (like some of the recent concepts Japan is making) then the roads would be much easier to negotiate.

For some reason the prime culprits are Chelsea tractors, Taxi drivers, van drivers and BMW drivers + the odd assorted loose canon :P.
