While putting my Nexus hub back on today after a bit of a repair I managed to strip the track nut on the non drive side. If I have a rummage round my toolbox and find any old nut of the correct diameter (10mm I think) will it work or do track nuts have a pitching unlike your average bolt?

If it's the same thread it will work..Track nut's aren't the same as any 10mm nut.............

Don't ask................. even my Decathlon did not do new shiney polished Track nuts..................... went back to the LBS that built the bike - they 'checked' too.. sorted.........
