It can't be just me and Fossy who are obsessive bike cleaners... there must be others. C'mon show yourselves. Who else likes nothing better then a 3/4 hour strip down and clean of their pride and joys... And is there anything really wrong with cleaning a bike mid ride..

I'm obsessed with cleaning my bike at least once a year....

I'm hoping you've read that wrong and we're talking three-quarters. Otherwise, Houston, we have a problem...

My clean Ribble was washed with Muc Off, Car Shampoo and then given 2 coats of wax.

My MTB has been 100% stripped down, Muc off, washed, 4 coats of wax (It needed it lol) every componant is being cleaned to within an inch of its life then the rebuild starts

Looking at my bike sat behind me (it was very wet and slushy this morning), I think my bike might be due its second big wash in 2 months! I really am becoming obsessed!

my commuter is filthy but i just can't bring myself to spend the hour or so cleaning it reasonably well. it's too cold outside!

I spent 2 hours on Saturday cleaning my bike, only for it to get dirty on Monday

Rinsed first, then washed with car shampoo then rinsed again.
Wheels are washed and rinsed (inc tyres)
Cassette removed and each cog individually washed then re-assembled.
Chain removed, washed and re-lubed.
All put back together and dried off
I may start using Mr Sheen after reading a few posts on here (thanks Fossy and Ian)
I've now got white tyres which will take an extra effort to clean.

If it's a wet commute then I'll lightly hose the muck off when I get to work then quickly wipe the rest off with some paper towels, same when I get home.

I'll probably give it a good clean once a month or if I'm going on a CC ride

There are 4 bikes in the shed at home (3 belong to housemates). Mine's the clean sparkly one, one is cleaned every few weeks but chain is black.

The other 2 have never seen a bucket of water

(I must get a stand so I don't have to lean mine against those dirty beasts!)

On Monday night I had the road bike up on the workstand, and I went over it with the hoover's brush attachment! That brushed off the accumulated muck from the previous week and prevented it going all over the floor! That was followed by a going-over with baby wipes, followed by a buff-up with a soft cloth.

Once it was clean, I adjusted the brakes and gave the gears a tweaking, then gave the chain and various parts a lubing.

The job's a good 'un
