Obsolete bike?

Yesterday I abandoned the Bkool and went out in the wind for 20 miles. I had two bikes to choose from A 2011 Ridley Excalibur and my new Cervelo R3. Guess what! No competition, it had to be the R3. During the winter I err towards the garage option unless the weather is favourable but I was persuaded out yesterday even though it was blowing a gale and I picked the posh bike. The fact that I chose the R3 over the Ridley has suggested to me that the Ridley is probably going to end up ridden little or never. It is a fine bike sub 8 kilos in current guise and way too good to put on a turbo. It has some sentimental value being my first carbon framed bike but in my heart of hearts I think I might need to sell it. It's got Centaur compact chainset with 12/27 out back (Cassette and chain changed in June) and Ksyrium Elite wheels. The cockpit is 4ZA and it has a Fizik Arione VS saddle. I suppose the question is do I think about selling it as a complete bike or selling the frame/fork and components separately, It is a size S frame, and this is a link to a review from 2011.

Interesting what you post when you are tired and have couple of ESB's on board. 'Surplus bike' would indeed be a better title. The jist of the post was me thinking out loud about the potential sale of a surplus bike, and my misgivings about doing so. When got my R3 I had every intention of continuing to use the Ridley as a 'winter bike', but at the first opportunity to use it, chose the R3 instead. This made me realise that given the same choice I would choose the R3 over the Ridley every time rendering the latter surplus to requirement. Having slept on it ,rather soundly I might add, I have decided to use the 'surplus' Ridley on the turbo and will probably scrap the Cube. It has seen better times to say the least.

Oooooooooooh Winnnneerrrshhhhh, whhhy did yooooo selll meeeeee? Whyyyyyyyy?! I hope you go to Pompey when you diiiiieeeeee!

That's what your Ridley will sound like when it comes back to haunt you.

I've just spaffed silly money on a new carbon lovely, but my old 2007 Litespeed still gets an airing when it's wet, dark and/or horrible. I've sold other bikes, but there's always one should know you should keep forever.

They all sound quite new. Scrap the Cube. How have you broken it.

Three of my 4 bikes are over 20 years old and are all in tiptop condition, ready to roll.
That's the point the Ridley is in tip top condition, but not been ridden since late August. The Cube is not broken but has been abused on the turbo, resulting in some serious blistering of paintwork from toxic sweat and general degradation over time of the components. Aesthetically it is a mess and my dismissive 'get rid' attitude is based on that and that alone. To be honest if that could be addressed I would consider keeping it.The Tiagra components aren't hyper expensive to replace.

That's made me laugh! Nice one Ganymede. Just out of interest and apologies if this is an obtrusive question but, how many wheels does your house have?
Bwahahahaha!

tbf I was born at St Mary's but never lived within the sacred bounds of Pompey city itself. Still used to sing

...we had joy, we had fun
we had Saints on the run
but the fun didn't last
cos the b*ggers ran too fast...

It's a very long time indeed since I've heard "I hope you go to Pompey when you die" so you gave me a larff too.

Have fupny wortha chips on me.
