The link onto the Calder/Hebble Navigation has been closed for a while now, for a good reason though as the Transpennine Upgrade for the Leeds/Manchester railway is badly needed. Though would it have been needed if they hadn't closed the very railway line (and others) this greenway is on?

Completely forgot about the construction of the Long Stratton bypass when planning today's ride.
I did try both of the alternative routes to the village but with the same result. As the other option was to do 2 miles southbound on the A140 Norwich-Ipswich road into a headwind, I gave up on the planned route and just made it up from here on.

Yorkshire water are digging up the path first, then it's all being resurfaced and improved. Long overdue but will take 5 months according to the sign! Theres no good diversion really either, at least it'll be better when finished.

Maybe encouraging they are considering cyclists.
Two weeks ago I cycled up yo a complete "Road Closed" where there was plenty of room for them to have put in a cycle wide path through (2 way road taking regular HGVs and they were working only on one pavement one side but diversion more than 5 miles(3 on a nightmare road for cycling).
Another a few days ago where road completely clised, dug up and abandoned. So I just moved a few cones a bit and cycled through (plenty of space going nowhere near anything dug up).
They just don't think of cyclists ot the impact of long diversion on anything without a motor.
