I used to go to this great shopcalled "Lofty Cohen's 50p and £1 shop". You had a choice of 2 prices. A great source of
a) tat for tat's sake
stuff you might need at some unforseeable future point (e.g. fuses)
c) joke presents (water-squirting flowers and the like)
d) tea-towels. good quality and cheap. useful for Yasser Arafat impressions.

I cant bring myself to go in to pound shops, what if someone I knew saw me? Id be mortified!
