After having eye surgery to remove a cataract and weld a new lens into my left eye yesterday, (due to the repercussions of a 22 year old injury!) I've been told that I can't ride my bike for 6 weeks...
Well, 5 weeks and 6 days now, but who's counting

I might even have to take up rambling in the intervening time to keep my fitness levels up to my usual mediocre standard.

EDIT: I'm also off work for that long as my job says I need two working eyes to do it...

:surrender:

Wot he said. Did lots of walking through my various recovery periods and find it quite relaxing. Try to do one interesting walk a year, normally up a mountain..

I hope you recover from the surgery quickly......I'm a rambler (you've probably noticed that).......nothing wrong with a good walk.

Thank you, it;s early to know, but it's great so far. Yes, I heard you are a rambler. I prefer rambling on my bike though

Thanks. Mrs Pete has a clothes rack that has pedals and a saddle. Apparently, I'm allowed to do that in a fortnight.

I have several local walks planned, all with a good pub half way round :okay:

I have a good telescope, but it's a long way to the sea! Lots of barges on the local canals and River Nene though.
You can see Mars, the moon, how much further do you want to see?
