I shall try and get away with My Ramble Today instead. .

Yes please. I started a Your Walk today thread once but it didn't get that far. Maybe a Ramble would be a thread we'd all like to read about.

Itching to get back on my bike's

After having eye surgery to remove a cataract and weld a new lens into my left eye yesterday, (due to the repercussions of a 22 year old injury!) I've been told that I can't ride my bike for 6 weeks...
Well, 5 weeks and 6 days now, but who's counting

I might even have to take up rambling in the intervening time to keep my fitness levels up to my usual mediocre standard.

EDIT: I'm also off work for that long as my job says I need two working eyes to do it...

:surrender:

@PeteXXX sorry to here that , sounds like an operation my mother had last year

you could always sit on the back of a tandem

All the best for a speedy recovery @PeteXXX

Thanks. It seems to be going well so far. Just got to keep any infection away for a while.

I'm sure there's a typo in the last word...

@PeteXXX hopefully the time passes by swiftly. You can still post cake pictures though.

I'll have plenty of time to bake my own, I reckon.. lol

I was just going to post them in My Ride Today.. :okay:

booze and cake

probably out cycling
Ooof your welding in a new lens into your eyeball description sends shivers down my spine. Heal up fast and I hope you're back on 2 wheels ASAP.

6 weeks off work sounds like a win though, enjoy.

Thank you. Three days in and lovely weather... I looked in the bike shed to make sure the collection wasn't feeling ignored.

All the best Pete, take it easy. :okay:

I'll try, thanks.

I won't describe the rest of what you can actually see going before they remove the old bit of eye, but I will say that I honestly did not feel any pain or discomfort whatsoever. Spooky feeling though! (And the surgeon & NHS crew were all brilliant.)
But 6 weeks off would be more fun if I could ride for some/lots of it. I'll keep busy and fit though.

Thanks.
All the best, Pete, I've been off the bike all summer with a broken wrist. Most frustrating, but I should get the final clearance in a couple of days.
GWS back to you as well then. Hope you get back riding while the good weather continues.

Get well soon !

Thank you.
