Hi, does anyone else have ways to relieve their stress at work. I have been making the ball below over the past few years with the elastic bands that come with the post. It's become a bit of an obsession to be honest so probably counter productive when it comes to stress relief now.

I used to work at a call centre, and we used to play "call centre bingo". Make up a variety of bingo cards with a selection of words and phrases that you hear every day, then dish out bingo cards to your colleagues and yourself, and cross off phrases as you hear customers saying them. Hours of fun. Maybe.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
It has taken about three years and possibly 10 minutes every other week.
You have to take into account my workplace times every individual element of the job down to how long it takes to walk let alone perform the task to the second and calculates manpower needed based on planned production targets .

Beware of getting TOO bored that mundane things take on a life of their own...
We used to invent games, play games, mess about when bored...and that was quite often in a large company.
Someone realised if you press 1+++++ and so on, it of course ran a total on our old calculators with big keys (its not rocket science, but it sowed the seed of a game)
So, see how many you can do in 10 seconds, 30 seconds, a minute...it became a challenge to beat your colleague..a very serious challenge that was played out quite regularly.
One day I returned to my office, its empty, and I'm bored. I sat down, scanned my desk, pulled the calculator toward me and started tapping away in my boredom. 1++++++, faster, picking up speed....huh, something moved in the corner of my eye...I glanced sideways...fkit, a visitor is sitting in a small annexe. Bogger, I'm not sure if he can see (or hear)what I'm doing....so I harrumph, frown at the calculator and stab at the keys like somethings wrong with it, the push it away in disgust, hoping if he has seen me, he will assume its faulty and im struggling with it, given up and pushed it away. That sounds plausible....doesn't it ?:blush:

I worked in a washing machine factory after I finished college for a summer that was just like that.

You could try playing Buzz Word Bingo to make boring office meetings more tolerable. Prepare a few cards with random selections of the latest management speak ("blue sky thinking", "work smarter not harder" etc) and get colleagues to cross them off as they are said. Then instead of shouting "House" you have to come out with some form of elaborate loud cough to announce yourself as the winner.
