Don't be horrid to me...

pah! as they saymy next question was going to be "how smart is the phone" - the question after that was "how smart is ................"
I spend a lot of time touring in Italy - eg last year in Sicilia, Calabria and Campania, Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Veneto and Südtirol. I have never had a serious issue with the OSM mapping - on the contrary it has been unfailingly accurate. I carry City Navigator on my GPS and I *used* to use it on occasions when there were gaps in the OSM, but I don't think I've used it since 2013. If anything the OSM mapping is better.
Personally I'm extremely grateful to the Italian OSM community for its brilliant work - a lot of people have put a lot of time and energy into building something invaluable (as indeed have all the other OSM mappers).
- no harm though in having offline maps downloaded as an additional resource for the twiddly bitsI just tried Maps.me to compare it with OsmAnd and it appeared to be identical and even showed that I had downloaded Galicia N and S already. Are they related by any chance?I dont think there is much between any of them - most seem to use the openstreetmap base which is on the whole pretty good as a detailed map (assuming it is the most up to date version) - Bing is pretty average mapping wise - Google maps is better and both of the latter do the "search for something" better than the OpenSM - power of the tinternet and all that - I havnt seen the fruit version so cant comment - none of what I have looked at is likely to wean me off paper maps - and I dont do lost- no harm though in having offline maps downloaded as an additional resource for the twiddly bits

Listen up, you old git, I clicked on Maps.me and it said that I had already downloaded Galicia, so shove it grandpa...their being identical mapping wise is not surprising - the buttons on all these things look very similar - nothing on the website to indicate that they are one and the same
Give it a go smiffy and see if it happens to you too
Maybe both use the same base file from open street mapping?
