(think craig charles on takeshi's castle)

i was on an 'easy' club run with my 8 year old son today that largely consisted of the manifold way. we decided to go a route that took in a ford and, of course, my son on his gt aggressor went through ahead of me with nay bother. so, as i've done so often before, breezed in (on a road bike) and had the misfortune of having a young lady (little older than my son) hit the brakes with the inevitable consequences. my efforts to (successfully) avoid hitting her resulted in me lying in about three inches of water.

as it was such a hot day, i can't say it was too bad an experience (i kept cool the rest of the ride), but boy do my bike shoes smell fishy…

Hah.. know it well. Had two mates on a club run try to ride through - nope - flat on ar$e. Soaked.

My did we laugh, and the picnic'ers had some entertainment. Unfortunately, the one lad who did all the mickey taking had a full bottle or ribena tipped on his head. There was about 40 plus miles to ride home after that !
