Whatever issues people have, she sounds like one very brave and sensible little girl. It certainly sounds plausible that the large cycling helmet would have yanked her neck and head back as she hit the floor though. I thought the majority of head injuries seen in children in this country were largely down to cycling though? For this reason I would generally recomend them wearing helmets. Compulsion is clearly self defeating though.

Each person can make their own choice, I wear a helmet, if others don't want to then that's their call.... but wtf is this comment all about???

Absolutely, because we all know a helmet will save your whole body from being crushed under the wheels of a car...

Yeah I saw that comment as well. I have lost count of the amount of times I have cycled under the wheels of innocent drivers and goodness knows how they must be feeling now. Just glad that they ran over my head otherwise I would not be here to type this now.

Funny how we're told not to comment on accidents unless we know but we can freely speculate and decide when someone smashes their helemt in a head on over the handlebars accident that saves their skull, as it's supposed to do, but breaks their neck, no part of the helmet's task

the accident and what she says are different topics anyway, who cares about the accident, is there some need to discredit the helmet so her preaching can be discredited?

At the risk of being flamed by the anti helmet revolutionary society, judging by the impact area on the helmet in the photo, it could well have saves her from greater injury as it looks to have slowed the impact.

I do wonder however why we never hear about the times that people fall off and the helmet sticks to the road and breaks their neck with twisting, which must happen?
