Maybe, but I thought I could first try sawing off the left-side of the handlebars to help with the balance.

Just like what happened to my cheapy fatbike crank up an incline, almost five years ago.

Duct tape will sort that, or a jubilee clip if you're going really OTT.

Weight saving took to the extreme, could shave a few more ounces off yet though.

If you fancy experimenting with shorter cranks, you could have them redrilled. Highpath engineering offer that service, although prices seem to have gone up since I had mine done.

I had a left crank shear off a few weeks ago and had 12 miles uphill home.
