Yep our Sunday Morning Ride is no more. The Viewpoint is shut until after the Olympics along with that stretch of the Greenway. Typical LOCOG ballsup.

This Locog infestation is like a bad case of dandruff...but in order to make sense of it we need to give Seb our ear.
A Sunday morning speedy to Southend and back then, paying homage en route! Becs is going to be disappointed, and Ess, of course! I was around Northolt Airbase last weekend, watching the Typhoons zipping through the sky with ear-bursting power - maybe the Sunday Ride could tour the missile locations...but I suppose there's no such thing as a free launch.

There was a great air display over Eltham last Saturday, two Typhoons doing very tight turns as part of their terrorist drill. There is a suggestion that the missiles will be going up to Shooter Hill.

My daughter asked whether you were allowed to slide down it after it was on the news. I think she thought it was some kind of enormous helter-skelter.

I pass it every day to and from work/uni/gym.

Shame I missed the Typhoons, I should have been able to hear them from my house.

There's a rumour that a missile battery will be stationed in front of the Secret Cafe off Oxleas Wood but I don't think it was there for last week's testing. The ones on Blackheath were there last Sunday and the soldiers were showing off with them, pointing them at people etc. But when I took SWMBO over on Monday they'd gone.
