Back to lycra: it doesn't flap. Hood enough for me, I hate flappiness when riding! Also helps to stop me flapping...ok, not going there...

I can't help feeling they'd get a better sign up rate if instead of advertising a 'healthy free way to get around and get fit', they said 'cycle regularly and you can eat all the cake you want, and you don't have to wear lycra'. I think people will really get on board with that....That's how public health works, incentivize with what they really want

I am more impressed by a person who looks like that riding a bike than some obviously fit guy. I think I am not the only one who has held back from doing something I would enjoy because I would be the object of derision. Having said that I don't wear lycra but I do kinda miss woolen shorts with real chamois.
