I have been 'fixed' rather than 'free' for a couple of months, although I haven't ridden that much. Learning slow-speed control and choosing ones stop points is a lesson...Overall, not bad and keeps me focussed, but I am not tearing around all over the place - just steady..."It's a journey, not a race" etc.
Although, today, I was gently balancing 'a la fixie', 10 metres behind a bus in the bus lane and 'BOOM' - I was T-boned. By a pedestrian with two bags of shopping! Twisted my new brake lever and left me scrabbling around on the A5 - that's the third time now!
