Well done for taking the initiative, Postman! From a woman's point of view, I suggest you use the net, keep it short and clear. If you know what type of person attracts you, don't be vague, say it as it is. Also state clearly your likes and dislikes, no point discovering after a few dates that she can't live without cats and you are allergic. Right from the start, you should declare ex wives, kids, job position. Us ladies like to know where we stand. Good luck!

That's been my experience (from the other side of the fence as it were!) I've been told numerous tales (by women) of men using 10 year old photos on dating sites, lying about their age, their job and even their height. The truth will come out eventually, so you may as well just be honest from the start.

Don't be afraid to meet women who don't seem at first to be totally on your wavelength. One of the good things about starting dating as an, ahem...more mature person...is getting out there and meeting people who you perhaps wouldn't immediately think you would be compatible with.

Just beware of the bunny boilers:eek: And the women who've been on the dating site for 2 years and haven't met the right person yet - either there's a reason why they've been on 29 first (and only) dates or they're out to take advantage of you (need a winking smiley here!) Which is fine if you want to be taken advantage of, but you don't sound as if you do.

Good luck!

I think Postman was asking a hypothetical question about dating.

I'll ask his wife tomorrow.
