The roads were dry but any water on the road was ice, for some reason quite a few patches to negotiate. It is a strange feeling thinking your cycling over a wet road only to look down and see the tyres are still dry.
No worries on the Marathon Winters plus their turning my legs into steel and it's only February.

Not too cold Foss! Minus 6 when I left home :cold:

Was it ? Crikey - good job I didn't check (having taken the road bike). Not much frost, roads looked dry, but did nearly get taken out by a 'porthole' driver. Thought it was about -1. Then again my face did freeze !

Was about as cold as it was yesterday morning according to the Garmin ( -5c ). The roads were dry but there were some patches of ice about, all fairly obvious ones on my route fortunately! I thought I was being cautious but I did my fastest avg speed so far . .

I discovered a new audio warning for "Port Hole Drivers" - You hear a very loud scraping of windscreen wipers behind you - every time I heard it, I'd turn round to see some numpty driving with a 10inch square clear bit of windscreen.

I drove home last night using my cycle route, the last 5 miles (of my inbound route) still too patchy ice to risk the road bike on, so sticking to the Gym for today, which frankly is quite depressing.

Might do a pitch inspection on the longer route this afternoon. People must think I am mad stopping getting out to see if it is surface ice!

Went through the park on the way home last night. Was fine, other than a few small spots of snow, until I got to the bridge over the river (OK, actually a stream, but called a river - we don't have much in the way of big water courses round here), and that still had quite a layer on it. Why?

Anyway, that has put me off the park route for a few more days.
