Colin - you sound like a cheating husband who comes back to his original partner to confess and to tell her that it took an affair for him to realise how much he loves her.
TBH - I find the macho and laddish posts over there increasingly annoying and haven't really missed it but I have made a couple of thousand posts over the years so I keep an eye on the threads that I'm involved in and start or join in a new one from time to time.

Let me put it to you this way - I probably check CC about once an hour, whereas BR got checked once or twice a day!

Re bike radar pro race-the whole tenor of debate on there has been bash Lance Armstrong, talk up every single doping story new or old..very unpleasant place to debate over the past few years..my postings slipped from around 5 or 6 a day to once or twice a month as it was getting that boring and lop sided. I wouldn't be surprised if it has been taken out of action because of the amount of defamatory comment

There's one or two guys on there who think they are untouchable, openly making derogatory remarks against anyone who isn't in the clique and the mods don't do anything.

I hope that they get Bikeradar back on line soon. Otherwise, we might see those guys migrating to CycleChat. Saying that, I have more faith in the Moderators on Cyclechat than Bikeradar.

Personally speaking, I became sick of Bikeradar members thinking it acceptable to bash anyone or throw insults at anyone who rode audaxes or anything else non-sportive based (I do ride sportives by the way).

I personally have 7 years and about 8,300 posts on there from C+ to Bike radar forums. I think any new cyclist clicking on bikeradar Pro Race gets a very skewed version of the sport. I hope that cabal don't get a free reign over here

I'l admit that I'm missing BR being down as I like to post now and again. Losing a bit of faith in the reviews though (4 star anyone?) and C+ seem to target the upper end of 'mid-range' too often.

I used to be a regular in Pro Race but, like Dave_1 found it becoming repetitively unpleasant (despite the efforts of a few knowledgable posters) to the point I only ever posted in PTP but eventually lost interest in that half way through last season as I was too busy to keep up with what was happening!

I do look into some parts of Road from time to time- not Pro Race- from time to time, but I generally stick to Commuting Chat. Much nicer bunch in there, made some good friends. One who works in IT pointed out that if one of their hosted sites was down for that long, they'd be out of business.

Noodley - would this be the time to remind everyone I was the winner of the 1st PTP?

In case anyone's interested?

I even made it into the pages of C+

But I stopped posting there, as it became increasingly annoying (in Pro Race)

Mind you, I think we should try to beef up CC's Racing section - it's a bit errm - boring.

BTW - did I mention I was the 1st winner of the PTP? I can't remember

BR doesn't seem to cater for leisure cyclists/pootlers call them what you will. It's an odd mix that, if I'm right, responds simply to the advertising budgets of cycle wholesalers.
