I think you can start new topics (not that I've tried) but they don't appear towards the top of the listings. After all, the forum is only going to say you're Hardy26 and you posted after the pubs shut on Tuesday evening. And let's face it, Hardy26 has already been very busy at that time.

Er, Shaun - are there any software endstops on the CycleChat software that we need to worry about? Should we start rationing ourselves to 5 posts a day, or only post every other day?

There's no need to worry about CC - there's bags of drive space on the current server and I recently added another 2GB system RAM so it can handle more concurrent processes (more people browsing/posting/etc.).

Whilst the physical size of databases in SQL can be very large, there does come a point where it is no longer practical to run it all from a single server; when the time comes I'll pop to the shop and get another one and plug it in ...

Cheers,
Shaun

It sounds so simple but I don't suppose it is?

Maybe not to you and I?

Anyway is it not bad from to discuss other forums? The correct procedure is to pretend they don't exist - even if it does mean missing out on a good bit of Shardenfroider (eng. sp.)
