I'm trying to pick up a hybrid (front suspension preferred) bike, but not keen on paying 2017 model prices.

I have had a look at my LBS and they have a couple of great 2017 bikes, but wondered if anyone knows of anywhere still selling 2016 or older models at a discount.

Budget is <£400
Prefer front suspension, rigid tail
700c wheels
3 chainrings
Not fussy on disc brakes

Do prefer Spesh/Trek/Cube/Dawes manufacturers.
TIA

Pop into your local supermarket, sometimes you can see adds in the back of the cycling mags, although it'll be slim pickings by now. If you can wait, the 2017 models will start to go up around September.

Spesh prices are controlled by the distributor, so you'll be less likely to find anything unless there is a promotion on

Trek are in store pick up only, so if not local that might rule them out too

Why do you want/need a triple on a hybrid?
Lazy slow cycling to/from the pub/off road with the Mrs who just got a Cube Nature Pro http://www.hargrovescycles.co.uk/cube-nature-pro-black-2017-hybrid-bike-46940.html
All my other bikes are roadies, and want something cheap to not have to worry about comfort being sacrificed.

I like Skol

A Minging Manc...
Now't wrong with a triple. They increase a bikes versatility with next to no downsides. You can ignore the small chainring and use it like a double for most of the time, but when you do need it it is a god send and can make a near impossible hill a breeze while those stubborn fools that sneer at the suggestion of using a triple are nearly rupturing themselves trying to maintain the pretence that they can ride a double up anything!

Is it very hilly to the pub?

I linked a few

Also try Hargroves for yourself

Thanks. Not all that hilly, but I'm hoping it may encourage the Mrs to venture out further so would prefer to not suffer on a leisurely ride.

Cheers

Quite. I have the compact on my roadies, but the hybrid is for leisure.

Try looking on Ebay, buy it nows. Nov last year I bought a brand new 2013 Wilier hybrid, RRP £650 for £220 from the official UK supplier. Someone else got it for £200! Addittionally don't settle for the BIN put in an offer if you do go this route. Mine was on at £289.
