Profane encouragement and an acceptance that skin on fingers is a luxury not to be enjoyed by all

Not done rubber hoods from completely off but I usually soak tight rubber goods (no not them) in very hot water to soften them up and make them more malleable

Some old hoods pretty much have to be turned inside out part way, thumped onto the levers and then unrolled the rest of the way over the clamp edge. Like rubber grips, hairspray sometimes helps.

On other words: yes, damn tough.

Tough but not impossible. A blast with a hairdryer warms them up (and keeps them dry) which helps,

Are they defo right size / shape as there are a few different styles, even in vintage world.

And yet, completely obvious, if you think about it and don't know otherwise. Plenty of bits are assembled off the bike and then attached.
