Oldhams Burning.

Well bits of the surroundings are.

I went for a walk in the sunshine yesterday and put out five fires by stamping on them in a local nature reserve/quarry. By the time I got round the front again another one was lit and the fire brigade were there.

Coming home tonight I spotted four or five plumes of smoke in various places .

Are the firebugs out round your way?

where at? not seen owt round my way but I am more central.

I'm always amazed at how long the hills round Hartshead Pike stay smoking for wen they go up every year.

Did anyone see indians head go up at night a few years ago?

You could see the flames from the Clarence!

I lived in Mossley when it went up a few years back. We were watching it roaring up above and around the big quarry from the velux in the roof.

Shouldbeinbed - it was Glodwick Lows yesterday and Lees end of town tonight.

Was it the Luftwaffe bombing the area and causing the fires? A squadron of German pilots were in such effective hiding, they don't actually know the war is over and flew a mission over Oldham, allegedly!
