I thought even cyclists were banned from all of them. But not according to TfL
Cycling
Cyclists will be able to use the ORN but won't be able to use most of the Games Lanes as they are offside (away from the kerb) - not the preferred road position for cyclists. Arrangements will be made to allow cyclists to travel in most of the nearside Games Lanes.

It wasn't ever the ORN that cyclists were banned from, as it says on that page they "remain open to general traffic". It's the Olympic lanes that are in question. And what it says about those lanes is very unclear. Are cyclists who use the offside lanes subject to fines? Rumours abounded a year ago that motorists and cyclists would get a £200 fine, but it looks like that will only be £130, and I can't find anything recent about cyclists.

However, I feel this is not the worst problem. Non-emergency ambulances will not be able to use the lanes. That could mean that dialysis patients are stuck in non-moving traffic, while the machines sit idle.

Perhaps non-urgent hospital patients could book to use the Olympic BMWs after the VIPs have been seated at their events....

Or possibly wait until they are critical when the ambulance can then legally use the games lanes..

As I understand, near side lanes can be used by cyclists - there is a nearside lane on the Stratford gyratory which allows cycling and several blocked roads which will have cycle access and "VIP" only.

The issue will be that the current bus lanes will be suspended, and this will mean that cyclists will be having to mix it with the standard traffic - or having to filter through it anyway, with a near empty games lane just to the outside. I can imagine the no-cycling in games lanes will be almost unenforceable without using (presumably stretched) police resources to catch them. When cycling down the A11 with the inside lane(s) stuffed with traffic and an empty games lane to the outside I think the temptation will be great (and quite possibly safer to use the empty games lane than weave in and out of slow traffic).

and don't forget the temporary two waying of several one way streets , just so coes cronies can get to the games by car. why not use Pubic (sic) transport lke everybody else is going to have to.

Do you get to take them home... taxi!!!

Fortunately not. We do get a much better free Oystercard and heavily discounted train travel to get home and back.

And the temporary closing off of many of the roads in Central London so some cyclists can chase each other around them ;)

We are encouraged by the way to get the VIPs to consider walking or taking public transport for shorter journeys.

Not exactly Coes Cronies. If you want the Olympics in your country that is what the IOC impose on you for their cronies. You have the choice then of accepting or not having the Olympics.
