At first I was surprised at no reference to football in the Olympic opening ceremony, but then on re-watching, I note that only two balloons failed to pop on the countdown, and they both had a 6 on them, and together it looked like 66 - accident or design ?

It seemed to be the only error in an otherwise faultless ceremony - except for macartney at the end.

Could it have been 'accidentally' slipped in to annoy us north of the border?

  5. Then you didn't see the bit with David "The hair" Beckham driving the boat with the flame either up or down the Thames, I wasn't certain which.

What has Beckham got to do with football ? I thought he was male version of Katie Price - famous for being famous.

I'm only up to the 'music' house thing appearing in the middle of the arena about 20 minutes in - what have I missed so far ?

It's absolutely outstanding so far, a million times better than what I had expected!

There was football being played in the Green and Pleasant Land for starters.

I'm taking it that the Green and Pleasant land segment finishes at the end of Jerusalem and the beginning of Brunel ? - I still see no football, may be that very very early form of football that looked a hell of a lot more like rugby.
